This is our market stall at the market spectacular in Darlington. The weather was eventually kind to us so made the day go even better.

We have got a stand at Aycliffe show on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August in the craft tent.

Here is a lovely square stained glass photo frame i've just made. I have used black and white glass and used the copper foil method in its construction.

Christmas is coming, so they say, so I've started on with some Christmas cards. It may be a little early i hear you cry, but it will be upon us crafters before we know it! So its busy, busy from now till December! Plus I've got a number of craft fairs and exhibitions to squeeze in between then and now.
KaSu crafts are now involved with a local craft carousel that helps to raise funds for local community centres. There is an array of different hand made quality crafts, which are all made in County Durham.

The next one is Great Aycliffe Show - 23rd & 24th August, 10am-5pm.

Heighington Village Hall - 4th October, 11am-4pm.

Byers Green Community Centre - 2nd November, 11am-4pm.

National Railway Museum, Shildon - 29th & 30th November.

A chance for you to get some lovely handmade and unique presents for your loved ones and friends for Christmas or a Birthday.

Here are the pictures of the shopping bags I talked about the other day. Since getting back off my holidays I have been working hard to produce some commission bags. The first was for a beach bag and the second was a handbag which I think could prove to be a popular design. Enjoy!

I have been busy recently making bags to take down the supermarket. They have been selling pretty well. I have also been making some pretty nice casual bags, one of which I took on a recent holiday to Egypt so the double up pretty well as a beach bag. The pictures shown are of one of my casual bags which has a really nice beaded detail and one of the shoppers I've been busy with. (My sewing machine had a well deserved break while I was away!) Having problems with pictures so I'll add them later! Watch this space....

Here is a mirror that i made. It looks fab in a bathroom, especially if there is a blue theme. The different blue glass and textures make it really contemporary.

The craft fairs are fast approaching, its quite exciting and i really hope we sell some stuff!

Here are two stained glass mirrors I made over the weekend. They are both very decorative items. I find making these mirrors really enjoyable. I love using the different textured and coloured glass.

The craft fair went ok last night. I sold some stained glass angels, which have prooved to be popular and also mothers day cards. We had a few enquiries also. The craft fair was running inconjunction with the open exhibition preview night so I think most people were there to look at the art, there is some lovely pieces in the exhibition which runs until 10th April.

Bags, Bags, Bags!!

Well this is my first post on the KaSu Blog and what a lot I've got to say!

I have been very busy over the past few days making bags ready for the Greenfield School Craft Fair and after a lot of hard work I now feel ready to sell, sell, sell!! I made 6 bags yesterday which is amazing since I have 15 in total! A very busy girl! Hopefully everyone will like the bags!

I am quite nervous about wednesday as it is my first craft fair I keep worrying is 15 bags enough? Should I make more? If I make more will they sell? Its all very stressful but hopefully all of those stresses will melt away on the night!

I have been experimenting with Adobe Photoshop. Ive been altering my own paintings into some interesting images to put onto greeting cards. I'm really pleased with the results . I've used Photoshop for quite a while to alter sizes of photos ect, but it really is a useful tool in creating whole new exciting imagery. I'm looking forward to creating a whole new collection.

We have some craft fairs booked which is quite exciting.
The first one is on 20th February 2008, at Greenfield School, Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham. This will co-inside with the opening preview night of the open exhibition. Susan has three paintings in the exhibition. In the craft fair we will have a selection of cards, hand made and hand painted, stained glasss mirrors and picture frames, small art work and Katys hand made bags.
We also will be selling work at the Golden Lion Hotel in Northallerton, North Yorkshire on the following dates, 9th April, 7th May and 4th June.

Yesterday we went looking for some nice fabric for some new bags. Katy found some lovely stuff in the fabric shop.
I have made some more stained glass angels, I have found that the angels are popular not just at christmas time. I have also done a pencil drawing today of my dads dog.

This is one of Katys bags. It is a lovely pink felt bag which has a pink fabric lining. The bag also has a detatchable flower motif.

We have been very busy just recently as we are working towards the up and coming craft fair on 20th February. The craft fair is on at Greenfield school in Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham, 6pm-8pm. This craft fair co-incides with the preview night of the annual open exhibition.
Katy has been sewing the new lables for the bags that she has been making. Susan has been making some stained glass angels.
